FAQ
Why it costs what it costs
We’re just two dudes with day jobs, and we never planned to mass-produce the Moduleur. So instead, we decided to make a few special ones for people who are into this kind of thing.
Each one is different and only one like it exists. We build them by hand, test them, take them apart, adjust things, and put them back together again until they feel right. We’re only making ten of these, not ten thousand.
This is also what lets us work towards a version more people can build. If you’re into it, you’re into it. If not, that’s completely fine, everything is open source and free for anyone to build.
Is this a giveaway?
Nope.
This is a draw for the option to buy one of the last five Moduleurs.
When the batch is ready, we’ll reveal all five instruments. Then we’ll go through them one by one. For each Moduleur, we’ll shuffle the list of people who entered and start reaching out in random order.
If we contact you, you can buy that Moduleur or skip. Once it’s gone, we move to the next one and shuffle again.
Do I have to buy if I enter the draw?
No. If we reach out to you and you decide to skip, that’s completely fine. We’ll simply move on to the next person on the list.
Why is shipping limited to EU?
Since we build and ship everything from Hungary, keeping it inside the EU makes the logistics and paperwork much simpler. Yeh, we know. If this changes in the future, we’ll let you know.
Will you build more Moduleurs?
We might build a few more for friends, but other than that, no — just these ten. Each Moduleur is a unique instrument with its own colors and designs. Once they're gone, they're gone.
Why only ten?
Shmøergh is a love project and we wanna keep it fun. This is fun.
What do you do with the money?
We want to finance a no-solder Moduleur DIY kit from the revenue.
